In this full-day intensive workshop, you will hear from a lineup of incredible business women who are killing it in the regulated cannabis industry. If you are a women entrepreneur or businesswoman that is curious about working in the cannabis industry, or an established cannabis operator - this event is for you. You’ll gain insight on investment techniques, business best practices, and key communication skills from the leading women in cannabis.
During our afternoon workshop, you will be paired up with a business mentor and team to help you get on track to reach your 2018 business and financial goals.
Below is an overview of our Jam packed day!
8:30am -9am: Registration and Checkin
9am-10:15am: Opening remarks and first group activity
After our networking event Ashley Picillo, the Founder and CEO of Point Seven Group (Point7), a women-owned and operated consulting firm based in Denver, Colorado, Sonoma County California and soon, Los Angeles, California. Point7, will talk to us about the cannabis pre-license to license process and best business practices after receiving a cannabis license.
11:15am-12:15pm Session :
Any business in the cannabis industry requires capital. When dealing with investors or raising capital, it is imperative to understand how investors think. In this hour-long session, Khadijah Adams, Marijuana Entrepreneur and Investor, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at C. E. Hutton, LLC a Minority-focused business development and management company in the cannabis and hemp industry will walk us through the basics of investing in the cannabis industry and tips to get your company investment ready.
12:15pm-1:15pm: Session 3:
In our third session, we will hear from Elizabeth Ashford, who is among California’s most experienced and respected public affairs professionals. Elizabeth spent seven years at the highest levels of state government, serving as Attorney General Kamala Harris’ Chief of Staff, Governor Jerry Brown’s Chief Deputy Press Secretary and Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Chief Deputy for Cabinet and Communications. Elizabeth will talk to us about the importance of communication in policy and the cannabis industry.
2:00pm-3:30 pm: Afternoon Breakout Sessions:
After our morning workshops, we will break for lunch where you will meet your groups and begin the afternoon workshop. During the group breakout session, you will be teamed up with a mentor and a team of 6-10 women to discuss your financial and business goals and challenges.
3:30pm-4: 30 pm Stories from Women
In our Stories from empowered women panel, we will hear from three amazing pioneers in the California cannabis scene. We’ll hear how they got into the cannabis industry and what they’ve been able to accomplish. Get ready for some inspiration ladies!!!
4:40pm- 5pm Meditation with MsKindness
To recap the day, we will set a group intention with a closing meditation with the one and only, MsKindness Ramirez. MsKindness is a 20 year Buddhist and founder of Elixirsby Kindness. Her boutique line of cannabis-infused remedies are made for women and shared through intimate events.
5pm-6pm: Private Networking Reception
In our last hour, you will be able to use the power of the day to start networking with fellow women to create, collaborate, and innovate together. We’ll have wine and light appetizers for you also to enjoy.
