Women Grow Los Angeles is pleased to present Dr. Adam Richardson Phd, Chief Scientific Officer with Aegis Biotech.  We will be sharing with the benefits of whole plant Cannabis and THCa benefits without the high. Is TCHa replacing the favored CBD?  And is more less with Cannabis whole plant consumption?  These are questions we are going to address and answer with science.  We want to empower you with the research as you make decisions about your health options.

Richardson is a long-term analytical chemist and have worked in the natural products and cancer research fields for over 20 years. Richardson’s graduate training in analytical and medicinal chemistry focused on natural product discovery.

Working from marine organisms, Richardson isolated novel terpene-derived chemical compounds with bioactive properties. This training provided Richardson with the expertise in analytical chemistry and small-molecule characterization, including mass spectrometry (LC/MS, GC/MS), chromatography (HPLC, TLC), and other techniques.

Richardson received post-doctoral training in tumor biology later Richardson moved to the NCI-Designated Cancer Center at SBP Medical Discovery Institute (La Jolla). Richardson applied his analytical chemistry skills to analyze metabolic pathways in cancer, including fatty acid and cholesterol biosynthesis. This training led Richardson to establish and direct the Cancer Metabolism Shared Resource, including laboratory design, SOP generation and result formats.

As Director of an accredited NCI Shared Resource, Richardson led a team of scientists investigating both cellular and systemic metabolic networks in a variety of disease states. By partnering with a wide range of biologists and clinicians, we worked with in vitro and in vivo systems to define metabolic phenotypes, identify potential bio-markers, determining mechanism-of-action and discover new therapeutic targets.

This work in human patient samples, along with his experience serving as a funding reviewer for the NIH, has required familiarity with federal and state regulations regarding clinical trials, FDA filing requirements and intellectual property. Richardson today applies his passion for biotech research as Chief Scientific Officer of Aegis Biotech a biomedical organization focused on Pediatric and Neuro research, education, science and technology.
